Ladybird is an old and much-loved British children's book publisher, and their distinctive, slender hardback books covered a variety of subjects, in the fields of both education and entertainment.
In the 1980s, many of these books were adapted into rich and atmospheric readings, with music, sound effects, and a full cast of actors, which were released as Pickwick Story Tapes.
